A mans best friend is the dog so the saying goes, and many believe that spending quality time each day with your dog will keep you away from much of the tensions and stress associated with everyday life. Taking your dog for exercise a couple of times each day is known to benefit both the dog and the owner and, when you consider the other everyday activities a dog endures, then it makes sense to make sure your dog has a comfortable bed to rest and recuperate properly. Choosing the right type of bed is as important to a dog as it is to a human.

There are many factors you will need to consider when purchasing your dog bed. The size and weight of the dog, any health issues, lifestyle and of course the budget. Some like older dogs or overweight dogs may develop joint or orthopedic problems and you need to purchase an orthopedic dog bed. If you are living in a cold area, then they need a bed that keeps them in comfortable temperature. This would also be of importance to your dog if they suffered from an arthritic condition. Of course, many of us simply love our pets so much that we want to give them the best quality of live we can, which includes the providing a comfortable and safe place to rest.

At Waggers we provide a range of dog beds that will always be appreciated by your dog and we work with top designers to provide you with a dog bed to fit in with your home or lifestyle. We think that giving your pet the correct bed is very important. Manners for Dog Owners

Everyone loves their dog or they would not be a dog owner. However, sometimes not everyone shares in the same love and they may find your free spirit with your dog disrespectful, annoying, and obnoxious. Dogs are just like children, they will get excited and misbehave, and sometimes you have to treat them as you would a child to be respectful to your guests or hosts.

Visiting Family or Friends

If you tend to take your dog with you wherever you go, you probably usually take him or her with you to visit friends and family. Here are some tips before you bring your dogs with you to visit friends or family whether it is for a few hours or days.

- Not everyone is a dog person.

Even though you may feel that they will not mind, they just might not want a pet in their home. Some people are not as accepting of pets as you are so you will have to respect that in their home.

- Respect your host’s home.

It may be okay with you if your dog chews up the couch, table chair or takes a bathroom break behind the television. Someone else will probably not find this acceptable and will become very upset with your dog and you that you allowed this to happen.

- Keep your dog contained, if needed.

If you have an hyperactive pup, you may need to either place him on a leash or bring a kennel with you. A hyper pup can be annoying and frustrating when your host is trying to visit with you.

- Ask where to take your dog to use the bathroom and clean up.

Be mindful of not only your host’s home but also the property. Before you allow your puppy to use the bathroom on the nice green lawn, ask where to take him. If your pup poops, make sure you have some plastic bags to pick it up. No one, especially someone without a pet, wants to pick up after you pooch’s mess.

- Do not allow your pooch to sleep on the bed.

This is fine in your own home but not in someone else’s home. Many people do not understand the connection you have with your pet and do not want fur on their furniture. Make sure to bring a nice bed for your pup to sleep on the floor.

- Do not allow your pup on furniture.

Not only beds but all furniture such as couches and chairs. Especially if they have leather or even fabric where pulled threads could be possible.

- Most importantly, ASK before you bring your pet.

You can keep yourself a friend and keep your family happy if you just ask if it’s okay to bring your dog with you to visit. Try not to get upset if they say that would rather you not bring him with you. Just decide whether you still want to visit and then make other arrangements.
